All-State Choirs

The KMEA All-State Choirs performs each year at the annual In-Service Workshop at the Century II Convention Center in Wichita. Students are selected via a rigorous audition process that starts at the district level. Students with the top audition scores who perform at the district level are then eligible for selection to the All-State Choirs. Thus, the All-State student musicians are truly “the best of the best.”

For a student to participate in a KMEA All-State ensemble, the sponsoring teacher must be a member of KMEA.

Audition Registration
Registration for 2020-21 KMEA District and KMEA All-State Choirs will be managed in the KMEA Members site. One registration covers both levels of consideration, district and state. The regular registration deadline is 11:59:59 PM CDT on October 11, 2020. Online entries can be made after that point for higher audition fees. Refer to your KMEA district for fee levels, which are based on entry time-stamps. For all entries, the sponsoring director must be a member of KMEA.

Students may use the Application Worksheet to assist teachers with preparing for registration, as well as for on-site registration at district auditions.

  • Every student singing in the District or All-State Choirs will have published copies of each piece of music.
  • A fee of $60 will be billed to the school of each student selected to sing in the All-State Choirs.
