All-State Elementary Choir

2024-25 All-State Elementary Choir Concert

For a student to participate in a KMEA All-State ensemble, the sponsoring teacher must be a member of KMEA.

2024-25 Schedule
Oct. 1, 2024 – Ready to receive new mp3 files
Nov. 4, 2024 – Online application completed (mp3 upload deadline)
Dec. 2, 2024 – Audition fees due – $10 per audition
Dec. 2, 2024 – Blind judging completed
Dec. 9, 2024 – Audition fee disqualification deadline. Auditions unpaid by this date will be disqualified.
Dec. 16, 2024 – Website notification of accepted singers. Directors submit Participation Fee ($65 per selected student).
Participation Fee is immediately due upon notification of acceptance
Feb. 27, 2025 – Rehearsals and Performance

Festival Scores – Audition Management System
We will use Festival Scores to manage audition mp3 uploads and judging.

The event tag for 2024-25 will be published in this space when ready.

Use the following Event Tag to activate the 2024-25 Audition Event in your Director account:

Teachers will…
— record their students’ auditions to mp3 format files.
— create their student profiles in Festival Scores.
— upload the mp3 audition recordings to Festival Scores.

Judges will…
— login and listen to the auditions.
— score the auditions using the established rubric.
— be able to listen to each entry as many times as needed.
— identify disqualifying factors found in the recordings.

Judges will not…
— know who they are listening to.
— have access to any identifying information for each entry.

The KMEA All-State Elementary Choir Chair will…
— login and verify completion of judging.
— validate disqualifying factors as identified by judges.
— be responsible for taking questions regarding policy of the Elementary Choir
— generate the final roster for publication.
— notify teachers of selected students.

The KMEA Webmaster will…
— monitor data processes during the registration and judging timeline.
— be responsible for primary tech support.
— post the final roster online when it has been released.

The KMEA Payment Manager will…
— receive and manage audition and participation fees.


***IMPORTANT NOTE:
5th grade students may submit auditions to both the KCDA Treble Choir and the KMEA All-State Elementary Choir. KCDA will also be using Festival Scores. Teachers only need to create one account in order to participate in both Audition Events.
