Performance Group concerts by invited schools, as well as the Intercollegiate concert, are free and open to the public. Concert attendees are requested to obtain Guest passes at Registration in Expo Hall during the following times:
— FRI 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
— SAT 8:00 – 10:00 AM
— Guest passes cannot be used to gain access to KMEA & KCDA state group concerts as those are ticketed events.

Applications
The Performance Group application is located in the KMEA Members site. After logging in, go to the ISW tab and select Performance Groups.
Each year, performance groups throughout Kansas compete for the privilege and honor of performing at the In-Service Workshop. Groups are selected by blind audition. Judging is conducted by our affiliate organizations.The timeline for the 2026 ISW Performance Group application process is shown below. Key dates are highlighted (required steps).
