All-State Choir

The KMEA All-State Choir performs each year at the annual In-Service Workshop at the Century II Convention Center in Wichita. Students are selected via a rigorous audition process that starts at the district level. Students with the top audition scores who perform at the district level are then eligible for selection to the All-State Choir. Thus, the All-State student musicians are truly “the best of the best.”

For a student to participate in a KMEA All-State ensemble, the sponsoring teacher must be a member of KMEA.

Registration for 2017-2018 KMEA District and KMEA All-State Choir is handled in the All-State Manager. This registration covers both levels of consideration. Registration deadline is midnight on October 8, 2017. Online entries cannot be made after that point. For any KMEA district which allows late entries for “district-only” consideration, directors will need to contact their KMEA district high school choir chair directly. For an audition to be eligible for state-level consideration, the sponsoring director must be a member of KMEA.

Students may use the Application Worksheet to assist teachers with preparing for registration.

  • Every student singing in the District or All-State Choir will have published copies of each piece of music.
  • A fee of $50 will be billed to the school of each student selected to sing in the All-State Choir.
