2023-24 KMEA All-State Middle Level Choir Concert
Century II Concert Hall, Wichita

Combined concert—one ticket will gain entry for both choirs.

For a student to participate in a KMEA All-State ensemble, the sponsoring teacher must be a member of KMEA.

2023-24 Schedule
Sep. 1, 2023 – Ready to receive new mp3 files
Oct. 2, 2023 – Online application completed (mp3 upload deadline)
Oct. 23, 2023 – Audition fees due, $10 per student
Oct. 23, 2023 – Blind judging of submissions completed
Oct. 30, 2023 – Audition fee disqualification deadline. Auditions unpaid by this date will be disqualified.
Nov. 6, 2023 – Website notification of accepted singers. Directors submit Participation Fee ($65 per selected student). Participation Fee is immediately due upon notification of acceptance
Feb. 23, 2024 – Rehearsals and Performance

Festival Scores – Audition Management System
We will use Festival Scores to manage audition mp3 uploads and judging. Teachers must create a Director account and add student and school profiles.

Use the following Event Tag to activate this Audition Event in your Director account:

Teachers will…
— register their students.
— create their student profiles in Festival Scores.
— upload the mp3 audition recordings to Festival Scores.

Judges will…
— login and listen to the auditions.
— score the auditions using the established rubric.
— be able to listen to each entry as many times as needed.
— identify disqualifying factors found in the recordings.

Judges will not…
— know who they are listening to.
— have access to any identifying information for each entry.

The KMEA All-State Middle Level Choir Chair will…
— login and verify completion of judging.
— validate disqualifying factors as identified by judges.
— be responsible for taking questions regarding policy of the ML Choir
— generate the final roster for publication.
— notify teachers of selected students.

The KMEA Webmaster will…
— monitor data processes during the registration and judging timeline.
— be responsible for primary tech support.
— post the final roster online when it has been released.

The KMEA Payment Manager will…
— receive and manage audition and participation fees.


***IMPORTANT NOTE:
Auditions submitted to BOTH KCDA Treble Choir and KMEA Middle Level Choir will be disqualified. Students choosing to audition must select, with assistance from their teacher, only one choir for which they will audition.
