III.	CHAPTER REPORTS
	A.	Allen County Community College
		1.	Recruiting membership for second year as chapter.
		2.	10 current members, 7 attending KCOMPTEP.
		3.	Sponsored a movie night.
		4.	Observed and helped in community schools.
	B.	Baker University
		1.	Recruiting membership for current year.
		2.	Upperclassmen members adopt underclassmen members.
		3.	Forming an events committee.
	C.	Butler County Community College
		1.	Recruiting membership for second year as chapter.
		2.	14 current members, 4 attending KCOMPTEP.
		3.	Sponsored a CMENC informational picnic.
	D.	Dodge City Community College
		1.	Recruiting members for current year.
		2.	Working on finalizing as a new chapter.
	E.	Emporia State University
		1.	Reporting a growth in membership, 5 attending KCOMPTEP.
		2.	Sponsored a car wash.
		3.	Plans to have a dance, work on National Anthem Project, and help 
			start a Tri-M chapter.
	F.  Fort Hays State University
		1.	Recruiting membership for current year.
		2.	15 current members.
		3.	Plans to bring in new teachers and local administrators 
			to speak through a panel discussion.
		4.	Plans to raise awareness of chapter through a possible 
			recital and fundraiser event.
	G.	 Friends University
		a.	Recruiting membership for current year.
		b.	30 current members, 12 attending KCOMPTEP.
		c.	Plans to raise awareness of chapter through the Christmas 
			tree decorating competition on campus.
	H.	Hutchinson Community College
		a.	Recruiting membership for current year.
		b.	5 current members.
		c.	Plans to establish to the new chapter.
	I.	Kansas State University
		a.	Recruiting membership for current year
		b.	Plans to bring in a guest speaker.
		c.	Plans to sponsor a music in the schools program with a 
			recital for all ages.
	J.	Southwestern College
		a.	New advisor this year, lots of changes in the chapter.
		b.	KMTA and CMENC chapters working jointly.
	K.	University of Kansas
		a.	Recruiting membership for current year.
		b.	30 current members, 11 attending KCOMPTEP.
		c.	Had an informational meeting/get-to-know-you kick off party.
		d.	Planning a workshop in October for mock-interviews 
			and a panel discussion with new and old teachers.
	L.	Washburn University
		a.	Recruiting membership for current year.
		b.	15 current members, 5 attending KCOMPTEP.
		c.	Had a root-beer-float party to kick off the year.
		d.	Plans to have a children's day with Halloween songs and activities.
		e.	Plans to a give a free Christmas concert at a nursing home. 

IV.	BUSINESS
	A  KMEA Strategic planning session- goals set for CMENC:
		1.  Division of duties among executives of CMENC board.
		2.  CMENC directory of advisors, chapter presidents, and representatives.
		3.  Greater participation in CMENC board by chapter representatives.
		4.  More communication among CMENC chapter advisors.
		5.  Increased number of Tri-M and CMENC chapters.
	B.  KMEA In-Service Workshop 2006
		a. Proposed CMENC sessions:
			1.  Crash-Course in Teaching (2 parts.)
				i. Shopping for a district.
				ii. Top 10 mistakes a new teacher makes.
				iii. How to start a private studio.
				iv. Teamwork/ group building/ leadership activities.
				v. Organization tips. 
		b. Panel discussion with new and old teachers.
		c. CMENC/ Tri-M Sessions:
			1.  CMENC members serve as panel for Q/A from Tri-M.
			2.  Divide out in groups to allow for more questions?
			3.  Board members serve on the panels.
		d. CMENC/ Tri-M/ Festival Groups Mixer
			1.  Possible options:
				i. Dance		
				ii. Scavenger hunt
			2.	Want to build relationships between members. 
			3.	Try to get more CMENC members to attend.
	D.	CMENC Officer Elections at ISW 2006
		a.	You are encouraged to run for office!
		b.	Letters will be sent out to all who are interested.
	E.	Communication
		a.	Use of the website is encouraged (www.ksmea.org)
		b.	Forum on website is set up for all CMENC members to access.
		c.	Forum for State Board is set up, members are encouraged to reference.
